Anyhow, I want to impart certain things about HIV management.
The management of HIV is not an easy one. Only an expert who updates himself/herself continuously can only handle successfully. In an expert hands, the life expectancy of the individual is almost as that of an individual without HIV infection of his/her age.
First of all, before starting ART, one has to undergo a good counseling to understand about HIV infection and the role of ART, combination therapy, drug adherence, availability and their cost.
Then a battery of tests including, Viral load, CD4 count, routine tests, LFT, RFT and tests to rule out co-infection and co-morbidity.
On the basis of all these, ART has to be selected and proper supervision and monitoring periodically for prognosis of the disease, drug interactions, adverse effects of drugs, complications and co-infections and co morbidity are also needed.
Then only the treatment would be a successful one.
Being an XXXXXXX country, in Liberia also expert would be available either in Government side or in private side. Ask your relative to approach the appropriate center or in a nearby place and that will keep her in good health.
