Posted on Mon, 7 Aug 2017 in Digestion and Bowels
Question: Hello Sir,
I have been diagnosed with GERD. Since 1st May till 30th XXXXXXX my earlier doctor had prescribed me with following medication
1. Rablet 40mg twice daily before food
2. Levosulpiride 20 mg thrice daily after food
In july I consulted another doctor who had prescribed me the following
1. Rablet L - Once after waking up empty stomach
2. Acogut 100mg thrice daily before food
3. Mucaine Gel thrice daily before food
4. Econorm capsules thrice daily befoee food
5. Pantocid 40mg once in evening
6. Pankreoflat thrice daily before food

Though I am getting some relief from above medication i want to know whether they are all safe drugs and is there any side effect of having these and are these dosage correct?

Brief Answer:
Perfect line of treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for choosing this forum to post your questions.
Have seen your narration and all talks you have with your primary doctor on this forum.

See in one line -What has been suggested to you is best available in market to treat your symptoms.
Believe me if this is not going to help then only way out is surgery which has its own complications and is even a failure in 10-15% of cases.

Believe me i have gone extensively through your previous question and answers. Treatment line is perfect.

1. Rablet L - Once after waking up empty stomach-it covers your reflux and acid production.

2. Acogut 100mg thrice daily before food -Excellent and latest medicine however takes few weeks before showing effect.

3. Mucaine Gel thrice daily before food-One of the best antacid in combination of mucosa soothners

4. Econorm capsules thrice daily befoee food-A good quality probiotic. Good bacteria's are usually effected by gastric problem,They help to restore them back.

5. Pantocid 40mg once in evening(i read that you were not relieved by Rablet-l so adding a ppi in evening is a smart idea.)

6. Pankreoflat thrice daily before food(contains papain, pancreatin and other digestive juices,Aids your system to digest food).

Now coming to your query-
Perfectly safe and is administered in well calculated doses. You can follow them all till 1 year without thinking about any side effect and all.
Line of tretment-Perfect.
Side effect-Are there but pros are far bigger then cons.
Agree with treatment-Excellent treatment.I would rather like to offer my regards to HCM for providing such skilled Doctors.

If i was given a chances would like to add a mild anti anxiety medication also because i feel your anxiety is adding on to your problem.
Treatment 1 (poor treatment) suboptimal doses.
1. Rablet 40mg twice daily before food
2. Levosulpiride 20 mg thrice daily after food,

Hope i provided you with professional details.
Fell free to ask any query arising out of the answer.

p.s You have to wait for at least 3 months initially. Reflux disorders are usually difficult to treat and control and you are taking good medicines right now.

Thank you much. Frankly I knew that this is the best medication and had full faith on my doctor. Only thing was the family pressure as they felt I was taking too many medicines.
I was not wanting to hurt the feelings of my primary doctor by questioning his methods, hence I asked you these questions. Thanks a lot. I will continue the medication with full confidence now.

I hope I will overcome this disease very soon. thanks again

Brief Answer:
good luck.

Detailed Answer:
Good luck dear,
They look like 6 medicines however 1 is enzyme and other one is probiotic.
So basically you are just on 3 medicines.

Remain under guidance of your primary.Don't taper or increases doses on your own.

Good luck.
