Hello

Thank You for contacting HCM. My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. DVT is seen on ultrasound as "echogenic foci" along the deep veins of legs. Sometimes foci is small and gets missed on ultrasound. However more reliable tests for DVT includes D-dimers & MRI. In your case the symptoms you are giving are going more in the favor of cellulitis/vasculitis. I would suggest you to once visit hospital & get an appointment for a "Consultant Dermatologist". He will examine the leg and rule out any possibility of inflammation. He may also advise some labs like CBC to check TLC count. Meanwhile following measures will help you in reducing the severity:

- ibuprofen thrice a day for 5 days
- Avoid standing for longer duration
- Do not lift heavy load.
- Apply cold compression. It will give soothing effect.

You'll also need to take the antibiotic therapy, usually five to 10 days but possibly as long as 14 days. It is on prescription and first needs confirmation by visiting hospital.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
