Question: Hello Sir! I am a 29 year old male banker. I have been suffering from excessive hair fall since December last. Upon consulting a dermatologist, I was told that I am suffering from cicatricial alopecia and advised a biopsy. Have not yet got a biopsy done due to my official engagement and time factor. I have been told that the damage is irreversible. Could you please suggest a cure allopathic or homeopathic or ayurvedic? ??

Brief Answer: biopsy required. Topical corticosteroids Detailed Answer: Hi, thanks for using HCM. I went through the query and understood your concern. Cicatricial alopecia means, the bulb of hair is completely destroyed and there cannot be regrowth. If you get done biopsy, the form of Cicatricial alopecia can be known, can conform the diagnosis and the further line of management can be decided.. Based on the form, in the initial stages different drugs like corticosteroids, antimalarials, antibiotics and immunosuppressive drugs can be used. Most commly lymphocyte predominant form occurs and for this topical corticosteroids that suppress or modulate the immune system are used. Corticosteroids may be injected directly into inflamed, symptomatic areas of the scalp. it is important to begin aggressive treatment early before extensive hair is lost. The specific treatment used varies, depending largely on the cause for the hair follicle destruction. To know the form of alopecia, biopsy is required. If the disease is inactive the only natural way to treat cicatricial alopecia is hair surgical treatment. So as advised from your doctor get done biopsy once and the further treatment can be decided. I hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask if any further queries and I will be glad to answer them. Wish you good health and faster recovery. Regards
