Question: I have Bells palsy issues . started 1998 . I have a balance issue when walking. I feel like I'm drunk or on drugs. I do neither. I have had 2 MRI preformed. found two lesions , one on right side, one on left side Neurologist said nothing to worry about. The attention span is being effected and speech is effected somewhat. I have type 2 diabetes and currently taking Januvia once a day along with Benicar for high Blood pressure. I exercise regularly, 3 mile walks , two hour bike@ 12 mph. My concern is balance while doing these exercises. can you advise.

Brief Answer:
Get investigated as advised and continue treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern..

With diabetes and hypertension, some brain changes in MRI is expected at this age.
The memory and balance issue may be due to accelerated age related brain atrophy.
other degenerative disease like multiple system atrophy or progressive supranuclear palsy leads to balance issue.

Some metabolic causes like hypothyroidism, vitamin B12 deficiency may also
lead to walking difficulties.

You need to get examined and evaluated by a neurologist.
Continue anti-hypertensives and anti-diabetics .

You can also upload MRI images at the reports section for my evaluation.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
