Suggest Treatmenet For Chronic Pain Syndrome

Question: I have a failed back due to a lamectomy/discoectomy in 1991 after Desert Storm. I have chronic pain syndrome that doctors are afraid to write me a prescription more than 10 mg of oxycodone per day because of the DEA. How can I get the medicine I need just to stay mobile without all the pain?

Brief Answer: try another group of medicines Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX I am Dr Saumya Mittal I am going to try and help you with your problem. The fact remains that if you have had a failed surgery, the pain will remain high. Now I will agree with your doctors that the pain killers should be restricted. They have many side effects, most serious of them being kidney dysfunction. I however suggest you talk to the treating doctors about the use of medicines like pregabalin and gabapentin. These medicines have minor effects of minor that can be monitored and usually reversible if detected early. I think they would agree to prescribe these medicines more readily. We have already tried the medicines you have suggested. A new surgery will not remove scar tissue that has wrapped around spinal nerves, the risk for paralysis is to great. Performing a monthly clinical to ensure I am not being addictive is a more theoretical approach. As all other doctors, you do not see chronic pain syndrome as a disease that is syptomatic of Reflex sympathetic dystrophy. My muscles shut down and manic depression leads to suicidal thoughts because I can't go back there. I was taking up to 70 mg of Dilauded at one time but came off the medicine because of the addictiction. I will seek the help of a psychiatrist because you are as worthless as all the other doctors that do not know what real suffering is. You are heartless and cruel and know nothing about pain management.
