Suggest the ideal dosage for Melatonin

Question: Is it ok to be giving my my 5 year old son 3mg of melatonin about 2-3 times a week to help he sleep at bedtime?

You are wondering if you can give your 5 year old son melatonin. I would say it is generally safe as long as you do not go over 3mg per dose. Anything higher could be too high a dose.

Yeah I have a mother in law saying it's not safe. but he has trouble getting to bed at night and is up till sometimes 7am and I think k that it will help him get the sleep his body needs
