Suggest The Best Alternative To Xanax
Question: Dr. I recently began taking zoloft (lost both my parents) but I have been on xanax. It seems when I started taking the zoloft I became completely immune to xanax. Is this possible, or am I just getting a bad generic xanax, as so many companies manufacture them now and many of them don't work. Can you recommend the best general xanax.

Xanax is one of the brand names (marketing name) for alprazolam. Other brand names that may be used are xanax xr and niravam. Xanax xr is released more slowly into the system.
Alprazolam is the generic name. Different companies may produce alprazolam.
If you are receiving xanax then you are receiving the brand name format of the drug which is good. If it not effective you can try one of the other formulations.
If xanax is not effective for you there are other benzodiazepines available.
Zoloft is an antidepressant, sometimes these medications can cause sleep disruption in some persons. If this is the case for you, it would be best to use it in the am when you have the whole day ahead of you to be alert.
If used at night, may affect your sleep.

Where is my answer. This is loaded with so many pages. What's the deal.No this did not help at all. I'm not on brand name xanax, I;m on aprazolam. I want to know which is the manufacturer of aprazolam and you also did not anwer my main question, DOES ZOLOFT CANCEL OUT APRAZOLAM.
I can't believe I paid for this. I could have found that out myself.

I mentioned that some SSRI such as zoloft can cause sleep disturbance. In some persons can also cause vivid dreams as well. It is not cancelling the alprazolam but this sleep disturbance is a common side effect.
This is the reason that it is sometimes advised to use the zoloft in the morning, that way it does not affect your sleep and the alprazolam can be used in the pm to help with your sleep.
