Brief Answer:
A low positive could be a false positive

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have gone through your query in detail and I have understood your concern.

In the absence of a clinical episode of herpes detection of circulating antibodies against the virus is the only evidence of past herpes.
Commonly used test i.e ELISA for Hsv, IgG and IgM, tests for both type 2 & type 1 Hsv virus. It does not distinguish between the two types. Therefore a positive test means that an individual could be having any of these Hsv types. Type 1 Hsv commonly causes oral herpes and type 2 causes genital infections.

Herpes infections can remain clinically silent for months or years and most of the sexually active people are not aware that they carry the infection and where and from whom they got the virus unless it is revealed by tests.

Nevertheless, a low positive result could be a false positive result.
I would like to know the complete details and values in your test report.

Regards
