Wash with water many times a day. Don't rub the eyes. Don't touch nnecessarily as it may cause bacterial contamination from hands and may lead to bacterial infection too.
Take plenty of clean drinking water.

Thank you, doctor. I'm a very easily panicking person and all I keep thinking the entire day is whether I have a tumor or aneurysm. Does thinking excessively like this cause headaches? Because when I'm distracted the headaches reduce very substantially, today I met with a couple of friends and my headaches and eye problems didn't manifest at all but as soon I was by myself again they recurred. Also, how long can pain like this last? I read on some forums where people claimed they have been living with chronic headaches and eye problems for years. And their pain is there every day. Is this possible?

Brief Answer:
Yes, undue thinking on some issue may cause headaches and confuses more!

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for consulting and your trust in HCM means a lot to me as a Physician.

Yes undue stress on a particular matter makes the things even worse and if we think so much on a specific issue, it makes us confused and headache is very common in people with pre-occupied mind all the time. And the proof is in front of you. You remained busy and happy. Came back, alone, and same symptoms again. It is all that needs to be taken care of. There are two ways to get out of it. Either manage it by yourself or consult a Psychiatrist for proper evaluation and help if you are unable to manage it by yourself. Pain like this can last until your eye inflammation is there and you are stressed on issues of daily life.

Yes pain to go for years is possible in issues like Sinus infections and inflammation of the sinus inner walls and people usually it is managed by symptomatic treatments. That is a whole different story of diseases you don't have.
