Brief Answer:
possibility due to conjunctivitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.

Acute red eye with swollen eyelid is possibility due to conjunctivitis (whether allergic or infective) but I will need to inspect your eye at least once for confirmed diagnosis.

So,clinical picture will be helpful for me if you can send it.

Also,provide me some more information,

Since when you are having red eye with swollen eyelid?
Is there excess watery discharge from eye?
Do you feel sticky and itchy in your right eye?

You may need to take antibiotic eye drops (ciprofloxacin eye drops) with Visine eye drops for symptomatic relief.

Continue warm compression along with anti-inflammatory (advil) which you are already taking.

If it is due to bacterial infection then,we would expect it to resolve within 6 to 7 days and viral infection may take 1 or 2 weeks.

But single look at the eye will be much helpful for me to understand it better.

So,kindly send it and i will guide you further after going through the picture.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip Kabra
