Suggest Remedy For Stiffness In Knee Post Surgery

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Nov 2015
Question: Hello,

I have had a ARTHROSCOPIC Knee Surgery on 6/4/15, to remove a piece of body (cartilage) that was floating around in my knee. I then had two Knee Manipulation Surgery's (8/6/15 & 10/2/15) by the same doctor.
I have been in physical therapy since this has taken place at two different places. I have also had a shot in my knee on 9/30/15 to break up some scar tissue I believe and to help with the inflammation.
My knee is still stiff and I am unable to bend my leg all the way to my butt (laying down on my stomach) without yelling in pain and my leg does not go flat towards the floor. It stays in a lock position (you can easily slide your hand under my knee.
I am thinking about seeing another doctor for a second opinion, or maybe looking for another alternative like getting multiple shots in my knee cap to relieve the stiffness in my knee so I can bend my knee back at a155 degree angle? What do you suggest? Second opinion, look into more shots being put into my knee to relieve the stiffness so I can have back my range of motion? Any suggestion would help!

Brief Answer:
A second opinion should be helpful

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through the details as well as the arthroscopic pictures provided. Unfortunately, to be able to comment on whether the full range of movement can be regained, a careful consideration of the full case scenario backed up by proper clinical examination is essential. But such an examinatio is beyond the scope of such an online interaction. I think that you should indeed get a second opinion.
Let me know if I could be of further help.
