Suggest Remedy For Shoulder Pain Radiating Neck To Clavicle

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Feb 2015
Question: I have left shoulder pain radiating from the left side of my neck across my clavicle to the tip of my shoulder. If I make a sudden movement reach downward or try to lift anything it is really awful. If I keep my arm elevated and held with the elbow bent against my chest it does not hurt.

Brief Answer:
Probably Muscle cramp

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam,

Thank you so much for writing in HealthcareMagic.

I understand your concern. The symptoms you described sounds like muscle cramp or a sudden severe pull to any muscle fibre. This might take time to subside. You need to take muscle relaxant tablets alongwith hot compress in the sore area.

Looking at your age I would suggest you to rule out any cardiac disease by going for an electrocardiogram because left shoulder pain can sometimes be referred pain due to heart disease.

Hope this helps.Feel free to ask more.
