Question: My Mother has high fever, urine infection and increased WBC count(14.8). Please suggest further course of treatment

Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
She has ongoing infection that is apparent with rise in WBC count.
However you have not mentioned her Urine report and any other tests performed.
Also I need to know:
1. Since how many days is she having fever?
2. Is it with chills and rigors?
3. Any burning in urine?
4. Any cough or expectoration?
5. Attach all her reports.

Thank you for answering my question
The doctor didn't examine her urine. and the only test is blood test the report of which I have enclose. And please find the answers below

1.2-3 days but it hs sibsided
2.She ws feeling cold
3.Burning in urine
4.No OCugh

5. The report is attached

Get proper investigations.

Detailed Answer:
I suppose she should get following tests as priority:
1. Urine Routine and Culture.
2. Malaria Antigen.
3. Typhi Dot.
Till her reports are available she should be started on antibiotic like Levofloxacin which provides as good coverage against Urinary tract infections as well as common respiratory infections.
For fever she can take Paracetamol.
Make sure she drinks plenty of fluids which would help in flushing her Urinary system as well as in maintain hydration.
