Question: I am a 36 year woman with severe anxiety and depression. I have taken lexapro with relief i am now in a complete state of hogh anxiety i was switched to paxil which has helped in the past. I am concerned aboit my thyroid my tsh 2.730 my t4 free is 1.29 and my t3 is 1.130

Good day,
Noted your concern. Sorry to hear about your symptoms. I guess i answered your question before. Your TSH is normal. Free T4 also seems to be normal. However, we needto know the units of these measurements to assess further. Could you type in or attach the full report as it is? That would be great. In any case, looking at your thyroid profile, it does'nt seems to be the cause of your symptoms. Along with your medicines, try practicing yoga and meditation which surely helps.

If you smoke, that agrrevates anxiety and depression. Please try to stop it ( i you smoke). Alcohol also need to be limited. There are several other hormonal causes of depression. However, an endocrinologist need to examine you and decide the best tests. Mention to your primary care doctor about catecholamine excess disorders and Cushing's syndrome which may cause these symptoms.
