Brief Answer:
Biopsy to obtain histological diagnosis

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Endometrial biopsy involves taking a sample of tissue from lining of the womb. If no sample was taken from the lining then its not an endometrial biopsy.

If there was an abnormal pap smear or colposcopy or visible suspected plaque like lesion then most likely your doctor wants to exclude the possibility of the lesion being malignant and to obtain a histological diagnosis.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
