Suggest Remedy For Persistent Red Spot On Breast

default
Posted on Mon, 28 Dec 2015
Question: Good morning. I have had a red spot on my left breast for the last 6 weeks. It has decreased in size but now it has a scab over it. The area over the spot is slightly harder than the rest of my skin. The spot is about the size of a pencil eraser now, but it just isn't disappearing. Any idea what this could be?

Brief Answer:
Likely minor trauma to the breast

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
I have reviewed the photographs.
The lesion on the breast seems to be due to some trauma to the breast or due to a furuncle or boil.
However, boil is unlikely if there is no associated pain.
Minor trauma to the breast may go unnoticed, and it causes injury to the fat tissue in the breast , leading to redness, hardness and it gradually disappears over the time.
It is nothing to be concerned about, if there is no associated nipple discharge, asymmetry in the size of the breast and other lump or swelling in the breast or axilla.
