Brief Answer:
Stop the chewing tobacco and get a prescription for "Magic Mouthwash".

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

I am sorry the mucus membranes of your mouth are reacting to the chewing tobacco. Please stop Wintergreen Dip and all other chewing tobacco as it is really damaging over time, and can be damaging more acutely as you are seeing.

Ask your doctor if she or he will prescribe "Magic Mouthwash" which you can use to help with pain and healing.

One type of prescription for Magic Mouthwash is:

1 Part viscous lidocaine 2%
1 Part Maalox (do not substitute Kaopectate)
1 Part diphenhydramine 12.5 mg per 5 ml elixir
Quantity: 120 ml
Swish, gargle, and spit one to two teaspoonfuls every six hours as needed. Shake well before using.

I hope you are better soon!
