Suggest Remedy For Pain And Muscle Weakness After Botox Injection

Question: I did the Botox in my masseter for face-lift 4 days ago. It that possible that it take different time for different side of my face to absorb the Botox? I can see some change on my face today. But it seems that my left side face is smaller and more lifted than my right side. And my mouth is a little bit crooked when I smile. Actually, my left side was a little smaller before Botox, but not as obvious as this. I always chew by my left side. During and after the injection, I can feel pain and muscle weakness only on my left side. I still feel uncomfortable in my left side now. But I feel nothing on right face. They put same quantity of Botox in two side: 20-20. Btw, I can hear a strange tiny sound like the bone or muscle is dragged on left side when I open my mouth widely. I am afraid that the Botox in right side dose't work. Will it be as small as the left side later?

Brief Answer:
The compensation of the muscles for diff in size on either side has gone now

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Although, the Botox can indeed take slightly more or less time to act on one side of the face, I do not think that is the case here.

Since you mention that the left side of your face is actually smaller, it could have so happened that the muscles in their disposition were balancing for this and hence the left side did not look much smaller.
But on the application of Botox, the muscles on either side of the face have got equally toned up and the difference is now evident.

Had you talked to your cosmetologist earlier, he would have surely adjusted the dose, keeping this in account. I do not think that it has not been effective on the right side.
However, just be a patient and observe and the differences would be evident to you.

In any case, I do not think that it would be smaller as the left side.

The sounds that you hear while chewing are due to the muscles being toned up.

In any case, talk to your treating physician/cosmetologist and surely he will try to intervene with the present scenario in consideration.

Wish you all the best.
