Suggest Remedy For Numbness In Fingers

Posted on Fri, 7 Nov 2014
Question: I was stirring something in a pan and now the top of my right ring finger on the left side under the nail corner is a little numb - i don't remember hitting it against the pan. What do you think this could be from? It just started feeling this way until after I made dinner. It isn't swollen and I can bend the finger but it feels funny - no pain - just a little numb under the side of the corner of the nail. Should I use some ice on it?

Brief Answer:
Don't use ice.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The numbness in the finger can be due to an injury to the area or due to Vitamin B 12 deficiency. This is not likely to be a serious issue.
Application of ice will further increase the numbness. It is best to leave it as it is and it will gradually improve on its own. You can also start taking Vitamin B 12 supplements for an early recovery.
I hope this answers your query.
