Question: I woke up three weeks ago with a really sore neck & shoulder. Kind of like I had slept on my neck wrong. The feeling is still there despite 4 chiropractic visits now. 5 days after the initial "kinked" neck feeling, my vision started to go surreal (I'd compare it to how vision can go before a migraine) The next morning, my vision had doubled at distance and gradually doubled at every distance over the day (6 days after initial kinked neck) I went to emerg. Blood tests ruled out the big scary things. I went to the optometrist and exams showed eyeballs were healthy but he felt it could be 6th cranial nerve palsy? I've been to an acupuncturist 5 times since & chiropractor 4 times. The initial kinked neck feeling is still there and I have occasional numbness down my right arm. When I look to the left I am able to see singular but my right eye does not move to the right past center and the double vision is worse that way. Could the kink in my neck have cut off blood supply to the nerve controlling lateral movement in my right eye? Is it possible that my vision will rectify if I can get rid of this (pinched nerve?) feeling in my neck?

Brief Answer:
You need flexeril, your neck muscles extend into the nape/back of your head

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM: Please note that this can be brought on by sleeping wrong and stress in ones life, or just ones body being run down due to an increased work schedule. In any event, you have muscles that extend into the occiput of your neck, now as you know, your eyes control center in at the occiput/back of your head, this causes a feeling/aura that could make you feel like your eyesight is poor, same as when one gets a migraine, what you need is a regimen of flexeril to ease the tense muscles/your have knots that even a chiropractor will not fix, please try this for a week with consultation with your doctor and it should resolve. Good luck.
