Suggest Remedy For Irritation On Penis During Intercourse

default
Posted on Mon, 22 Dec 2014
Question: Hi. During sex last night I felt an irritation on the right side of my penis that I thought might have been my partner's pubic hair. We used lubrication but it dried out and we didn't apply more right away. I woke up later and felt a slight burning in the area just behind the circumcised part of the head. In the light of day, I see that there is an area that is cut laterally, there is redness and some slight dampness of the mucus membrane. I'm 62 and have no other health issues that I know of

Brief Answer:
Apply antibiotic creams.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to HCM forum.

This need not be worried much. Just keep the area clean and dry. Apply antibiotic creams like mupirocin or povidone iodine twice daily for 5-7 days. We can expect the ulcer to heal by this time.

Anyhow, if you feel features suggestive of progression of infection like increasing pain or surrounding edema, kindly avoid delay in seeing your doctor as this will need oral antibiotics too.

Hope I have answered your query.
If you have further questions, I will be happy to help.
Wishing for a faster cure.
Thank you.

As I didn't notice anything prior to having sex, what would the possible reasons be for it happening during and after sex? By the way, we are both monogamous and have sex regularly

Brief Answer:
Likely from friction.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Sorry for delay.

Usually this happens from friction during intercuorse.
Keeping good lubrication can help to prevent recurrence in the future.

Hope you got cleared.
Be free to ask if you need further clarification.
Thank you.
