Brief Answer:
Transient rise in intraocular pressure occurs because of inflammation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I reviewed your history.
Transient rise in the intraocular pressure can occur following selective laser trabeculoplasty.
This will decrease once the inflammation caused by laser decreases. This requires use of steroid eye drops and antiglaucoma drugs.
I guess your doctor would have prescribed these drugs.

Hence no need to be worried once the inflammation decreases you will be fine.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.

Thank you

After the surgery I was on steroid eye drops for 3 days which is what the doctor prescribed. Ill be seeing the doctor on Friday for follow up. I had the pressure checked and I mentioned the pressure is rising. How long does the inflammation usually takes to subside? Would it be practical to use steroid drops a bit longer. As a side note I read about pigmentation so I was concerned that this could also be the problem. Please advice.

Very helpful. In your pratice what is the percentage of patients that develop inflammation and do they all eventually recover ? Articles I read in the internet are very conflicting and at times scary. The good news is that by adding Alphagan I was able to bring the pressure down to 17. I hope this is a good sign.
