Brief Answer:
Give antacids and esmoprazole and soft soothe diet.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:

1. Burning pain or heart burn is due to medication/ stress induced gastritis.

2. Antacids should be helpful in relieving pain. Due to severe pain due to gastritis, his appetite is lost. Give him cold milk, ice cream and less spicy diet.

3. Additionally along with antacids, for a few days, proton pump inhibitors like esmoprazole along with domperidone can be taken to reduce gastritis and reflux esophagitis.

Not to worry. Antacids or anything cold will reduce pain. As it is present for several days, it is likely gastritis along with possible reflux. After food, ask him to avoid lying down immediately. Atleast 1-2 hours in sitting / erect position will be better.

Hope it helps.
