Question: Hello,
Roughly 1 month ago I admitted myself to hospital due too very sore sinuses, inflamation in the nose and face. Blowing my nose caused me to almost passout. While in the hospital blacked out and had a mild seizure. (have never had this happen before ever). They gave me a CT scan of just my head I guess to check brain function. I always find myself kind of gasping for air when laying down or waking up out of breath. Also I find say going up a full flight of stairs I am some what tired by the top. I am 29 year old male. 5'10" tall roughly 190lbs. My eating habits are not great at all due to my job always find myself eating takeout. I find when laying down my heart is always beating very fast like I just ran on a treadmil and its like a hard beating you can feel it in my chest very much so. Also I find i get random spouts of diziness especially if I bend down and then stand up feels like I may passout. I am going to see my family doctor tomorow, but I have been doing a lot of my own research online cause I know if there is a heart condition you have to address it fast. I use to be very active play lots of sports now I find myself lucky to make it to the gym 1 time per mopnth. I don't have any family history of heart problems. I use to partake in some cocaine abuse as well just so you know. Havent done this in quite sometime though. I am under alot of stress with my job everyday as well as stress with home life. from my research I think maybe could have a enlarged heart judging by symptoms etc. What are your thoughts and like I said going to see my family doctor tomorrow...is there anything maybe you could reccommend that I ask her to test me for or anything you think I should tell her etc.

Thank you for your time.

Brief Answer:
seems to be nutritional deficincies.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having palpitations with dizziness.

As per your clinical details, it appears to be a complicated sinustis (seizures) with nurtitional deficincies.

Your symptoms, palpitations could be due to anxiety or nutritional deficincies and dizzy spells during getting up, could be due to postural hypontension.

I suggest you to consult local ent surgeon and evaluate with detailed history (postural hypotension), detaile ent examination ( by otoscopy, nasal endoscopy - residual sinusitis or ear infection), vestibular tests (to differentiate central/peripheral vertigo), blood tests (hemoglobin pecentage, elctrolyte disturbence, throid hormone, blood sugar). If necessary CT scan of brain with para nasal sinusitis (to see the the status of brain and sinuses). Depending on the examination findings, treatment can be started.

In the mean time, maintain balance diet with timely meals, correct your dehydration with plenty of fluids, fruit juices and coconut water. Do not board on treadmill, till you correct your dizziness. Last but not least is stress freel life style.

Do not worry, enlargement of heart will not occur in your age.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
