Question: I suffered a syncopal episode and concussion to the right back side of my head (hit a cast iron tub) over six weeks ago - cat scan done at the time showed no bleed. but i am still having severe headaches in the front of my head and vice grip like headaches - 24/7 - which seemed to have subsided but then started up over the last ten days - the last few days i have started with tingling in my face - and tingling in my legs - (both intermittently) i have asked my PCP to do an MRI but waiting for authorization. my quesion is this dangerous - the new tingling - and headaches returning and increased in pain - should i go to the ER instead of waiting for the auth and MRI? is there any chance of seizures?

Brief Answer:
You should have another CT scan.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. Returning of headaches and increased of pain suggests that there may be a delayed effect of head trauma that needs to be checked/ruled out, most probably Subdural Hematoma ( slow accumulation of blood over the surface of brain). This situation needs a prompt evaluation and another head CT scan is most reliable at the moment.

Tingling on face and legs may be related to Subdural Hematoma.

If Hematoma or other damage of brain is excluded after brain imaging, then there is need for further investigation of tingling, (EEG to check for/ rule out seizure). Suspected Subdural Hematoma is a emergency, because of this a suggest you to go to ER.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
