Question: Case study working on: 2-year-old XXXXXXX XXXXXXX male with cc of puffy eyes. VS: 37.2, 100, 16, and 125/85, weighs 22 lbs, 2.46 feet. Mother is 18-yearo-old single mother. 2 mos ago had a well child exam at that time, occasional puffy eyes, which MD ordered Zyrtec with no further complaints. Allergy to Amoxicillin. Seems to have some seasonal allergies. Continues on Zyrtec. Past week woke up with puffy eyes - worse first thing in a.m., better throughout the day. Runny nose with thin secretions 3 weeks ago with viral URI, that did not go to MD for; had a low grade fever, mother thought heard wheezing with this. Now alert, playful in office with mild periorbital edema. Help What is it?

Brief Answer:
Glomerulonephritis

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.

I have gone through the case study. I feel that this is a case of Glomerulonephritis or nephritic syndrome. Often it follows an infection. Puffiness and raised blood pressure are observed as in this XXXXXXX Worse in morning and gradually improves thereafter.
