Suggest Remedy For Frequent Headaches And Giddiness

Question: Hello Doctor,
I generally go for complete medical check-up every year. Last month during such check-up we found small calcification in the Brain. On rescanning using contrast, I was given to understand that there is no infection around calcification and that it is a common occurrence. But since 4 days I am having frequent headaches and giddiness.

Is that calcification a matter of concern?

Brief Answer:
Calcifications are common findings. You should not worry for it.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have told you that calcifications on Computerised tomographic scan(CT scan) of Brain are common findings, even in normal individuals. They are mostly asymptomatic and need no treatment.Infact, they can't be treated. And according to the golden rule of clinical medicine,a doctor has to treat a patient and not the CT scans.

A calcification which has no surrounding edema or not associated with any active infection,is not significant.Furthermore, some of the calcifications in Brain come under the category of physiological calcifications.

A calcification without edema or without active infection can't be the cause of your headache and giddiness. This is something that is an absolute truth with "no ifs and buts".
So,you are normal and should not be worried.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have some follow-up questions,I shall be glad to answer else, please close the thread-rate it and write a review.Your rating will be of help to me.
