Brief Answer:
Many causes possible

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal
I have read your query
I think I will be able to help you.

There are many causes to vertigo. From the medications you have used, I feel the most prominent is probably low sodium. It is odd that you should have that at a young age like yours. I would suggest a further investigation for that. The urine osmolality test is important. There is a possibility that you are loosing excess salt and excess water in urine that i causing you to have the vertigo

Another possible condition is non cephaligic migraine. In other words you have a migraine that has no pain. But I see that you have been on medicines for the same, yet I consider it because if the migraine prophylaxis is not effective or suitable to you, the vertigo will continue.

I WILL also suggest an MRI BRAIN. A damage to the cerebellum may lead the the similar condition.

I have suggested a few tests.

In the meantime, I would suggest trying to take plenty of fluids and salts. It may help. Best of luck

Hi Dr. Mittal
Thank you for getting back to me.
I have been trying to eat more salt for the last few months and it doesn't seem like its helping. should I return to my cardiologist or that follow up? I have been researching some things and it seems like the adrenal glads can cause low sodium. Should I ask for further investigation on that, Addison's disease keeps popping up when I search my symptoms.

As far as the migraine goes, I have only been on Verapimil (i'm not sure if that's how you spell it) and something else but I think those dropped my blood pressure which made it worse. I tend to have lower blood pressure that drops when I stand but when I sit back down it doesn't help. I actually feel somewhat better when I am moving, but I'm not sure if that's just because I don't notice it as much.

I just had an MRI this weekend and they said everything was normal

Brief Answer:
urine and ultrasound tests

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your response.
With that additional information, I think I would point to either a migraine or a ow sodium issue. I would agree with your research of adrenal issues. So I would suggest again- urine osmolality and a usg abdomen again.

As for migraine, there are many other medicines that can e tried, like carbamazepine, flunarizine etc. I would suggest meeting a neurologist, not a cardiologist for that.

Best of luck
Please inform me the reports so I can help you further.

Brief Answer:
USG is UltraSonoGraphy

Detailed Answer:
USG is UltraSonoGraphy of the stomach area. This may help visualize adrenals. If its not seen there, we will have to do an MRI. So I am suggesting a easier test first.
Best of luck

Ok, thank you.
Do I see my primary care physician for that test or do I need to see a specialist of some kind?

Brief Answer:
md medicine

Detailed Answer:
hi
vertigo is basically a special symptom that should be dealt with by a neurologist.
so i would suggest a neurologist.
however in view of that hyponatremia, a md medicine would be more appropriate.
best of luck
