Question: Hello,

I am 39 years old male. Almost a year ago I am suffering from a pain in my chest that has started strong with a cough, but now it is mild with occasional cough. i have consulted a local doctor, had X-ray and ct scan as well. The x Ray for the chest showed Bronchitis, and the ct scan showed minimal bilateral pleural effusion. My doctor described some antibiotic, and that's it. After almost a year there is still pain in my chest that varies in intensity but not completely gone. It feel tightness in my chest with heavy breath specially in the left side of my chest and it is stronger when I sleep specially on my right side.

Brief Answer:
inflammatory condition

Detailed Answer:
cannot say in your particular case without actually being there BUT...
with any bronchitis there is irritation. Most to nearly all people wiht it benefit from having asthma medicines that lower lung inflammation These include steroids, and inhaled ashtma medicines and monteleukast. Bronchitis typically takes a month to be mover the inflammation without medcine and this runs faster and more completly if medications are given.
Can be scarring or a complication from pneumonia but these are rare complications and having underlying lung inflammation or having it start after an illness and last are much more common situations.
