Brief Answer:
Need clinical evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

If the urinalysis is negative, a culture test may help. Your symptoms do point to an infection and this needs to be sorted out. A swab test of the vagina also may help.

If you have the habit of using tampons during a menstrual cycle, please stop this and start using sanitary pads. Do not douche or use strong soap solutions to clean the genital region.

Take adequate liquids. Use loose fitting undergarments made of cotton only. Do get back with urine reports.

Hope your query has been answered. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.

Brief Answer:
Treatment for vaginosis should be complete and with periodic prophylaxis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing back.

Treatment for vaginal infections should be complete and followed up with periodic prophylaxis. The treatment you took in the past was mostly incomplete. It is not enough if the symptoms subside, but, the course must be completed. Thus, incomplete treatment may also be a cause of recurrence. Also, infections usually flare up either during or just after a menstrual period since this is when there is more possibility.

If a vaginal swab is not possible, a vulval swab can be taken. Urine culture sensitivity should be performed. Other causes for dryness should also be excluded. Blood glucose levels and thyroid profile also can be done.

Hope this helps.

regards,
Shanti.V.
