Suggest Remedy For Boil On Nose

default
Posted on Wed, 2 Dec 2015
Question: I have a strange swelling on my nose. It looks like a boil or something under the skin of my nose to the right side of my nose bridge. It has been there for a couple of years at least and it is not painful at all but looks ugly. All I can remember is hitting a glass door of a hotel when I was running out to catch a bus (the glass of the door was not obvious). It did have bleeding from my forehead but I cannot recollect if my nose also hit the door. Absolutely no pain.

For better understanding, can you please make well lit and a good resolution picture of the nasal swelling. Also tell me if there has been a change in its shape, color and consistency since the time it first appeared??
When had you that hotel door impact??
Did you also had a nasal bleed at that time in addition to the forehead bleed??
Can you feel itch, feelings of heat in this nasal swelling??
Is there a positive family history for skin cancers??
Do you spend more time outside in direct sunlight??

For better understanding, can you please make well lit and a good resolution picture of the nasal swelling. I Will. Currently I am not able to do so but will find a way to do it tomorrow.
Also tell me if there has been a change in its shape, color and consistency since the time it first appeared?? It comes and goes but no change usually.

When had you that hotel door impact?? 3 years ago.

Did you also had a nasal bleed at that time in addition to the forehead bleed?? I think so. But was more concerned with the forehead bleed and nose bleed might have stopped soon.

Can you feel itch, feelings of heat in this nasal swelling?? NO

Is there a positive family history for skin cancers?? NO

Do you spend more time outside in direct sunlight?? HA, HA! I LOVE TO LIVE INDOORS, IN FULLY COLDLY AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM. I DONT LIKE TO GO OUTDOORS.

Brief Answer:
It doesn't seem to be of much clinical concern based on the history alone!!

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back and thanks for the consultation at my virtual clinic and providing the detailed history. I appreciate the efforts!

You don't have any family history of skin cancers and it has not changed its size shape and consistency. No itch and pain etc. All goes to the benign lesion side.

On the basis of history, it doesn't seem to be a big medical concern, but definitely I need some pictures to make it clear for you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
