Suggest Remedy For Abdominal Cramps After Hysterectomy
Question: I had a hysterectomy a week ago. No pain until I sneezed 2 days ago and now feel like I have bad menstral cramps. Not getting better or worse. Dr not worried because no bleeding or anything. No fever. Heat helps. What did I do to myself?

Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Mild pain in the lower abdomen after hysterectomy is a normal phenomenon. It is because of the surgical procedure, sutures placed inside and the healing process.
Such pain can be aggravated by sneezing or straining at stools due to stretching of the peritoneal layer (abdominal covering) inside.
You should not worry at all if the pain is not increasing, there is no bleeding or fever.

Thanks. I guess I'm just worried because it didn't hurt at all until the sneeze and now has been a constant ache with occasional stabbing pain. Could I have pulled a muscle?
It seems to be worse if I need to go to the bathroom or have gas. I'm scared I pulled a internal stitch.

Ok. Thanks. One more thing. I feel like my bladder is never totally empty. Dr did a test for uti which was negative. Are strange bladder sensations normal? This seems to have gotten worse since the sneeze. Thanks.
