Brief Answer:
An overactive thyroid should be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome and thank you for asking!
When i see patients like you in my practice first of all i recommend to rule out an overactive thyroid by checking TSH and FT4 level, especially when the metabolism has changed during the last years.
If you have always been slim and no disease is diagnosed and you have family members that have your metabolism than you should see a dietitian who will advice you further what diet to follow regarding to your BMI.
Hope the information will be helpful.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
