Brief Answer:
can last a few days

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Diarrhea from infection (eg from using food that may be contaminated in some way), can sometimes last a few days.

Most adults two to three, in some cases up to a week.
Abdominal pain even without eating would occur as the infection works itself out of your body\

It can occur on its own or with vomiting.

In general treatment consists of: (a) holding off solid food till there is a 4 hour window with no symptoms

After this time has passed then start small amounts of dry food which is part of the BRAT diet for diarrhea- banana, rice, applesauce, toast (or any dry food)

(b) using enough liquids to make up for the fluid loss from the diarrhea- oral rehydration drinks or sports drinks would be best because they would give back fluid and electrolytes

(c)probiotics would also be helpful either on their own or in yogurts. They help shorten the course of the diarrhea

(d)can continue the pepto bismol

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
