Suggest Remedies For Skin Infection On Hands

default
Posted on Mon, 4 Jul 2016
Question: I have what seems to be a ringworm like thing going on with both hands. Causing the skin on my palms to peel. Not in circular form, but small watery filled blisters and redness / itching between the fingers. Hot water irritates it. Topical anti-fungals don't touch it. Is there an over the counter remedy?

Brief Answer:
Can use terbinafine cream or miconazole cream

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at Health Care Magic.

I understand your concern but how do you know that you are having ringworm infection?
It is unlikely for fungal infection to affect both the hands simultaneously.

I would recommend you to upload the photographs of your palms so that I can have a clearer picture of the condition and can guide you accordingly.

If you are sure about the diagnosis of ringworm infection you can use Terbinafine cream or Miconazole cream on the affected areas of the hands twice daily for 3-4 weeks.
These will be available as over the counter antifungal medicines.

Sorry for the delay. It was not simultaneous. The left hand was first, then the right some weeks later. I did not say it was ringworm. I said ringworm-like. Itchy, red between the fingers and reacts to putting my hands in hot water. I have tried anti-fungal creams, but unsure if any of them contained miconazole or terbinafine. When the doctor first saw me he had said that topicals would not work in this case. That is why I wondered if there were any over the counter oral remedies. That being said: I will try whatever you prescribe as I just want a remedy once and for all. Thank you for your kind considerations.
