Question: Helping a friend move a dresser down stairs yesterday.
Slipped, fell about four steps from the bottom.
Fell sideways on the rail and the dresser fell and pinned me. Instant 10 on pain and difficulty breathing. I've been hit before but damn. Had to lay down. I felt around this morning. Nothing seems out of place but it hurts like all hell when I do certain things and about a 6-7 when stationary.

Brief Answer:
Pneumothorax should be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

I assume that it was chest injury. If so, your symptoms might be caused by rib fracture. Breathing problems can also be a sign of pneumothorax (air in the chest).
That is why, it would be advisable for you to visit ER. Chest x-ray and ribs x-ray should be done.
Please do not wait with it.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
Pneumothorax should be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
You have to make sure that there is no pneumothorax. Pneumothorax can be life threatening. Please do not ignore that.
Broken ribs do not need any treatment indeed.
