Brief Answer:
headache is due to hypovolemia or dehydration...possibly

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
Most pregnant women can safely take acetaminophen (Tylenol) to treat occasional headaches or paracetamol tabs. But before any medication it is important to rule out any hypertension in pregnancy where headache is an ominous sign of pre-eclampsia. Again as she is just 16th week of gestation , this is unlikely, so you may opt for other remedies for treatment like:-
1. drinking plenty of water, as this improves blood circulation and treats dehydration which is an imminent cause of headache.
2. You may apply ice packs over the forehead causing vasoconstriction of vessels and helping with the pain.
3. reduce on caffeine intake if any.
4. take frequent and smaller meals to avoid low blood sugar phases which can cause headache.
Usually dehydration is the cause and rehydration shall help her if she is not willing to take medicines.
Regards
