Suggest Remedies For Severe Breast Pain Post Lumpectomy

default
Posted on Fri, 11 Mar 2016
Question: Good morning. Last month after going to a shooting range I experienced severe pain in my left breast. I also got a hard lump that was hot to the touch. I figured it was a strained muscle as it is not a muscle that I use often. Yesterday when I got home from work I found a spot of blood in my bra. It is coming from my nipple and I am really scared. I had breast cancer 12 years ago to my left breast and had a lumpectomy. So of course I am very nervous.

Brief Answer:
Breasts ultrasound has to be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

I wish I could give you the answer that its not a breast cancer. But I cant, as this is one possibility.
As you are breast cancer survivor, the risk of another breast cancer is higher than regular. Blood coming from the nipple can be a symptom of such cancer.

There is a possibility that the lump which you have had last month was a hematoma due to muscle injury and now it is coming out from the breast. But to diagnose it and to rule out cancer it is necessary to perform breasts ultrasound. Without it we really do not know nothing.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
