Suggest Remedies For Persistent Colic In A Child
Question: Hi
I have a 3 weeks old baby boy. he is fine during day time but in night from 11pm till early morning he keeps on crying every day, we presume he is collic, we try giving in bonnissan but it doesn't help. our pediatrician has suggested to give Collicaid, but he said to give as SOS, but he cries daily in night time. during night time while crying his symptoms are to cry, look for sucking everything even if he is feeded, will tighten his body and turn into red face
kindly suggest if these are symptoms of collic and what should we do?

Brief Answer:
No need to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns but don't worry. If your baby is fine in day time and sleeps well then most likely reason for night crying can be colics, Gastroesophageal reflux and lack of external stimulation.
So, I would recommend you to just ensure regular burping after each feed for at least 3-4 minutes in night, swaddling, slight head end high position of the crib and good lights & stimulation in day time to keep him awake and set biological clock. Ensure exclusive breastfeeding.
Hopefully he will not need any medications for this. You may give colicaid drops SOS.
Start tummy time after he turns one month old. This will help.
Take care
