Posted on Tue, 27 Sep 2016
Question: My daughter lost her milk teeth (central incisor) on the upper jaw recently and the permanent tooth came is not on the same line as of other teeth. it is much below the adjacent teeth and bigger than other teeth. When she bite the jaws together the new tooth is kind of locked inside. Please advice if this can be corrected by removing the adjacent tooth and providing space for the incisor to come forward or it should be corrected by use of a clip. What are the implications of using a clip.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your query as your daughter is 7 years old and her permanent central incisor is locked inside or palatally erupted, as of now you need not to get the clips or braces placed..
Let the permanent teeth erupt atleast the other incisors..
At times when the jaw grows with age and teeth erupts, the teeth gradually gets back into alignment..
So as of now you should wait for atleast her age to be 10-11 years..

Removing of any teeth should not be done now as her milk teeth will fall gradually by themselves and the permanent teeth will erupt..

In case of the teeth does not come in proper alignment lately then braces can be placed with proper planning and teeth will definitely come in alignment..

You can also send me Images of her teeth so that I can even guide you better..

Any further queries are welcome..

Regards.

Brief Answer:
Wait for other permanent teeth to erupt..

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Welcome back..

I have gone through the images and it seems that right permanent central Incision is erupting palatally and also lower central incisors are not aligned..

I would suggest you to wait for some time, let other permanent teeth also erupt so that if there is some other teeth that does not come in occlusion then the treatment will be done accordingly.

As of now do not go for clips..

Any further questions are welcome..

Regards..
