Question: Hi doctor, my husband has a rash on his groin. Could it be the cause of my yeast infection? We had sex a couple days ago and it was very painful for me, so I visited a doctor. Now my husband is telling me that he has a rash on his groin, could I be the cause of it?? And how can this be resolved? A have a Drez V gel to apply in my vagina, could that be used on him?
I am sure that I am his only partner. Can you help me?
He doesn't want to visit the doctor with me even when I ask him

Brief Answer:
yes, both could be yeast

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question
People get yeast a lot in the groin area because it is an area that gets hot and sweaty frequently.
It can be passed form person to person.
The Drez V gel and Tinigyl are both Metronidazole and it is effective for bacterial vaginosis, but not for yeast.
If the doctor though you had bacterial vaginosis instead of yeast then that may be what you have.
Men do not get Bacterial vaginosis so the get would not help him. If he has yeast then you can get an over the counter medicine like monistat and he can use it topically, but if the rash does not resolve he will need to see a doctor.
