Question: I had stepped on a glass bottle on 24th march. It was on a beach in deep water. There was profuse bleeding for a long time but it clotted after few minutes. I had few antibiotics plus pain killer tablets and had covered the cut with band aid all the time. Although the pain has reduced to a lot extent now but still I have problem in walking. The skin has regenerated completely but the pain persists. I had not taken the anti-tetanus injection.

Brief Answer:
As explained, awaiting for feedback and photos

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Female/23 - stepped on a cut glass bottle on 24th March - bled - took few antibiotic and painkiller - band aid all the time - pain while walking - skin regenerated - not taken anti-tetanus ...

Please give an additional information:
- What was the size of the wound opening - small?
- Please post the clear photographs of the wound if available and the fresh one as of now.
- Is it only while walking that you are getting pain?
- Any redness or swelling?
- Is the movement of the food normal?

The probable reasons of residual pains are:
- mild persisting infection.
- scar causing the problem
- small nerve regeneration

I would advise you the following:
Please give feedback and post clear photos.
Elevate the leg above heart level when you are resting
The need of other medicines may be decided after your follow-up or examination by a General Surgeon.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to give the feedback, photos and ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

-The wound opening size was about 2*2 cm in a "plus" sign.
-The wound is completely closed now n skin has regenerated. So photographs might not show anything.
-Yes, I get the pain only while walking. I don't have pain if I press it very hard with my fingers.
-There is no redness and swelling
-My movement of food is normal

Brief Answer:
Saline water fomentation

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your detailed feedback.
You have pain only on walking and all other symptoms and signs are not present.
This indicates that there is fascitis of the underlying fascia. This fascia supports the foot while walking hence the pain on walking.
I would suggest you the following:

Take broad based bucket or a bowl in which you can rest your both feet comfortably.
Pour in a water till it fills up to 8 inches. Remove the feet and start adding common salt to the water. Go on adding till you can see the salt not being able to dissolve. This makes it supersaturated solution.
Once this saturated solution is made, you have to make it warm on a stove to an extent that the back of your hand can tolerate, pour it into the bucket, test the temperature again, rest your feet in to the bucket. Keep part of the solution on the stove so that you can add warm solution to the bucket with feet. Continue for 15 minutes minimum twice daily. Do not throw away this solution as it will look dirty after some days; use the same.
