Question: Still having problems with my leg after the back surgery,I was given a Rx for prednisone 4mg on 6/25/16.it did help some I took your advice and I rest and used my heat pad. I'm wondering should I go and get the mri of my pelvis done like the orthopedist recommend or is it to early to tell if the back surgery will take care of my piriformis problem.

Brief Answer:
Wait for 2 weeks more.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
You had a back surgery just 3-4 weeks ago. It sometimes takes 4-6 weeks for the inflammation to go away completely. You can wait for two weeks more for MRI scan. Do continue with mild physiotherapy under the guidance of a proficient physiotherapist.
Do continue with prednisolone , pain killers and flexeril till then.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
