Suggest Remedies For Ear Pain And Cold In A Child

Question: My 4 year old daughter has cold and last night she complained of ear pain. I guess blockage of cold has caused that , is there any over the counter nasal drop available to remove the blockage ?

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. Indeed the problem seems to be due to cold. You need to give steam inhalation. The water vapor will reach deep inside and would help in diluting the mucus that is probably blocking the tubes that connect between the throat and middle ear. This will help in equalising the air pressure and thus would provide relief.

Nasal drops will not help.
