Brief Answer:
ear infection present, would need antibiotics either topical or oral

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

The green and yellow discharge imply that an infection is present in the ear. Infections are more common in persons who spend a lot of time in the water.

It may be an infection of the outer ear (otitis externa) or middle ear (otitis media).

An assessment by your doctor would be required to determine the exact nature of the infection.

Antibiotics would be needed, either oral or topical drops to the ear. In addition, you would need to stay out of the water for a few days.

Anti inflammatory pain killers can be added to help with any pain eg naproxen , cataflam, ibuprofen

Though the ear may feel irritated, it would be best to avoid trying to clean it.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

I have a history of ear infections & as of present I have consulted ent specialist (initially inflamed & at present oozing) - same been diagonized as otitis externa - tratment being antiinflammatory oral medicnes + anti histamines + fluid been drained out. Note: Regrettably for past 4/5 months I am suffering from purpura (same has lead to severe pigmentation on legs) - all tests: blood/urine/stool/blood pressure etc are indicating normal & treatment being antihistamines - however same has not benifited. Last week onwards I have been put on oral steroids (deflazcort) & goutnil Question: OOzinf from ear has not stopped, in fact it is yellowish in colour and smelly -- Since I am using steroids, what bearing it would have on my ear & suggestive remedies to stop oozing.

My son is 16 months and had tubes put in at 4 mo's old. Since the tubes it seems he has been more sick with ear infections contantly. In the past two months he has had one ear infection followed by a double ear infection and now his ear is bleeding. Is this normal?

I believe that I have ear wax buildup in my ear that has closed the canal. This happened from using a quetip to clean my ears after swimming. I have been doing home treatment (using hydrogen peroxide / water mix for a few days, then debrox for 4 days) and it has worked a little bit, opened up and was able to hear again pretty clearly for a day or two, but then it closed again and opens up about 10% of the day. I don t have the money to go see a doctor and feel this is minor and can be fixed. No pain, no symptoms of infection or problems, just lack of hearing and tinnitus (which goes away when it opens up). So my question is if there is anything else I can try or has it been so long I should absolutely see a doctor?
