Question: Thank you. I am an RN and for the past 1.5 months have been experiencing a very mysterious skin rash among other sx's. I have reddened streaking, often horizontal in various skin regions. as well as some facial sores which ooz puss now and again. My ears feel full and VERY itchy. I have SOB w/ exertion I did not have before. I do not feel well...both physically and emotionally. I have been having occasional constipation and at times diarrhea. I have seen these very strange little bugs in our house. They have a little body w/ long what appear to be long hairs in the front and then hairs on body. Other bugs I am seeing are very tiny and black, but do not look like anything I have seen before. Am I mad? I feel it is the bugs making me sick? I treated myself for lice, but sx's returned very soon after.

Brief Answer:
Get done blood sugar estimation.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
For your skin symptoms, you should definitely get done blood sugar estimation as diabetes can cause similar skin problems.
Since you are in peromenopause age, hormonal changes can cause stress, mood swings and skin problems.
So avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
For shortness of breath(Sob), we must diagnose bronchitis. So get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test). If it is showing obstructive defect then you will mostly improve with inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone).
If PFT is normal then SOB is mostly due to hormonal changes and stress.
Please let me know
1. Have you checked for diabetes?
2. Have you achieved menopause?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
