Question: I am currently out of XXXXXXX and recently I got infected with Chickenpox. After medication, I recovered completely after 3 weeks. But I have black spots on my face(few) and chest and stomach. Can you please let me know if the spots disappear themselves after some days or if not please suggest any ointment to be used/treatment to take.

Brief Answer:
Sun protection and kojic acid or glycolic acid based crea

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thanl you for writing to us

I am Dr. Kakkar (dermatologist). I have gone through your query and i have noted your concern.

Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a common complication of chicken pox. The spots would definitely fade with time; however to hasten resolution you may use a kojic acid or glycolic acid based cream once or twice daily in addition to sunprotection with a sunscreen during the day specially if the dark spots are on exposed parts like face.

Thanks doctor for the answer. Can you please tell me the cream name as I am staying in a Spanish speaking country and it is difficult to explain them and buy a cream.

Brief Answer:
ask for a product containing alpha hydroxy acids

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Glyco - A cream or Kojic cream are common brands that i use here in XXXXXXX in my patients. These are XXXXXXX brands therefore i doubt they would be available in spain.
You can ask for a product from a drug store containing an alpha hydroxy acid e.g either glycolic acid or lactic acid. That would be fine.
I am sure you would get a sunscreen easily.
