Hello and welcome,

I looked at the picture you sent, and it looks like a small area of cellulitis, which is a bacterial infection of the soft tissue.

I would not use Neosporin on it any further. It will not help, and you may be reacting to it as well.

Here is my suggestion:
Soak the ankle in very warm water (not so hot you burn skin) several times a day (the more often the better). XXXXXXX the area dry thoroughly after wards. You can use a mild detergent such as Dreft or Epsom salts in the water. Or just the warm-hot water is fine too.

Do this for a day and see if the reddened area starts to subside. If it is helping, continue to do this until the reddened area resolves.

However, if it does not start to help OR if the reddened area is getting any wider or worse, then do go in to an urgent care clinic or see your doctor for an oral antibiotic, and do so quickly.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarification.

Brief Answer:
Go in to be seen.

Detailed Answer:
It doesn't look too bad in the picture, but you know better from seeing it up close. You can go in to the urgent care and most likely they will give you an antibiotic now.
