Question: I am off to a meeting for a while. I have noticed that I have great difficulty breathing through mouth and getting a good breath. i have an obstruction that would make me think i have air trapping blocking the flow in. it is mid chest high. I just stop when inhaling.

I breath through nose to get air but it too is limited but i do not get the sudden stop.

What may mimick air trapping or what might this be.
I will check in after meeting

Give me all the causes of air trapping or that which mimics air trapping

If i had A T. what would have caused it. This has been a slow manifesting issue.

Brief Answer:
Yes air trapping is slowly developing phenomenon.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Air trapping is slowly developing phenomenon.
It is not acute onset thing.
Common causes for air trapping are
1. Asthma
2. COPD
3. Bronchiolitis Obliterans Organising Pneumonia (BOOP).
Actually it is the marker of obstructive Pulmonary disease.
Is is detected in early stage on PFT.
So normal PFT will exclude air trapping.
It is also seen on expiratory CT scan.
Why you are so much emphasizing on air Trapp?

because as i said in earlier text, i am having problem getting air in. I cant describe it other than i take a breath in and it stops as if the lungs are filled even though I did not take much of a breath.

I don't have words to make you understand.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
Well, honestly speaking, I am not finding words to make you understand.
I am out of my words.
I am telling you in stern language the way you like.
YOU ARE NOT HAVING AIR TRAPPING AS YOUR ALL PFTS ARE NORMAL.
Is this clear to you?
Why you sound depressed?

I am not depressed, I am at a loss to understand why my inhilation stops. Stops suddenly. It has nothing to do with PFTS.
Than again my confusion is what is the cause of my lungs not expelling all the air so i can take a deep breath.

I too, look at all the PFTs, and do not see any problem other than small airways. what is in my small airways causing the air to not fully leave. Is it so simple that the airways are constricted so that it cant leave. Isnt that like asthma.

If I said copd, the markers arent there on the pft. so what is it, I am tired of unconciously taking a mouth breath and getting stopped. then taking a nose breath and be limited.

Do I not understand the markers on a pft for
Air Trapping
Emphysema copd
Boop? whatever that is.

Brief Answer:
Your uncontrolled sleep apnea might be a reason for all these.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
I respect your feelings.
So don't get hurt when I replied like the previous one.
Your mouth breathing query is mostly due to uncontrolled sleep apnea.
And uncontrolled sleep apnea can cause small airways inflammation along with stress.
So in my opinion, you should get done fresh chest sleep study or start using CPAP machine or loose weight and get in shape.
Am I making sense to you?

Well Cpap is out of town, so I have to get it again and a new mask
I have lost roughly 20lbs in past couple months. I am only 15 lbs approx over optimal weight.

I put more weight on stress. than the sleep apnea. I do know that the last time I used it, I still had the inhale issue but when I put cpap on, the pressure of the cpap helped get a full breath.

Now consider the cpap pressure and breathing helping.

You yourself saying that CPAP eased in breathing.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Well you yourself proved my point.
You yourself confessed that your breathing was eased while using CPAP.
I won the battle. Ha ha ha. Just kidding.
And I also emphasis on stress but more on sleep apnea than stress.
Are you still on stress? Not on sleep apnea?

Nope, I am saying that the cpap pushes the air in that i cant bring in on my own inspiration. the positive pressure is getting air to go where my body refuses to bring in

When I moved here, the bedroom was not set with enough power outlets and none near bed. So I put it away. Then I took it to Sioux Falls, when I am home I use it. But it doesnt help breathing when i am off it

Did you slept well with CPAP on?

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
This is a technical excuse.
You should have made extra point for CPAP near your bad.
I don't think it is too cumbersome to provide a point near bed. Is it?

But you did not address what happens in the morning when its off, my breathing will still be difficult

Yes, stomach bloating is a problem with CPAP.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, stomach bloating is a problem with CPAP use.
You can avoid this by using BiPAP machine. It is higher version of CPAP machine.
You can try it.
And in my opinion stress is the cause for your morning symptoms.
I know you must be laughing on this reason but this is my opinion.

Your breathing is difficult through out the day like your stress stays through out the day.

Shortly??? SHORTLY??????

I have written you Books, Novels, Tomes like War and Peace from Tolstoy in Russia.

Thanks for the last response. I was gonna ask if the stress would be my issue.

I was working here and my boss called on the phone, she started asking questions and I answered but I noticed my anxiety and Panic setting in. I could actually feel the hormone release. so You can sternly say that my breathing problem in my airways is from stress constricting air out making air in difficult

Please note and comment, This has been an ongoing issue for 3 years and comes and goes but when i breathe through my nose most days, I do not notice the issue

You take everything positively. And this is the most liked thing about you for me.
I respect you a lot.
From this incidence (boss on phone) and other incidences, I think you are having fear of judging.
You stressed when you are in question and people are judging you.
Are you getting my point?

I'm guessing this will be the last text in this thread. Today was miserable. Leaving for work this morning was too much. The knowing of the stress load was too much to deal with so I went home and called in sick. I was sick with panic. I laid in bed most of the day, did a lot of thinking. The laws in the states gives a full time worker the right to take time off from work when there are medical issues. They can take up to twelve weeks and then still have a job. I am so stress that I am thinking of taking a break and resting but looking for a new job At the same time. Wish me luck.
